Obituary
Bro. Michael Glenn Powell 67, affectionally known as "Big Mike" of Hallsboro, NC answered the call of Allah on Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was the son of the late Mr. Emery Powell and Mrs. Alma Livingston Powell of Hallsboro, NC, and brother to the late Melvin E. Powell and Brenda Rhymes.
Janazah prayer will be conducted on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:00am from The Islamic Center of Columbus County, 410 S JK Powell Blvd., Whiteville, NC with Imam Hasan Ibn Muhammad officiating. Burial will be in The Islamic Cemetery Shannon, NC.
He is survived by his wife: Melinda Powell, children: Tracy Wilson, Michael D. Powell, Markee Delaine, and Almaandra Powell, siblings: Charles Powell, Terry Tyrone Powell, Angela W. Powell, James L. Powell, Lillie Roberts, Charles D. Powell, and a host of grandchildren, family and friends.
A facial covering is requested for viewing and service.
