John Marlow Obituary

Retired Captain John W Marlow 78, of the Brunswick County Sheriff Department, residing in Carolina Shores, NC passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia, NC. He was the son of the late Mr. Austin Julius Marlow, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Pearl Gore Marlow of Calabash, NC. He was a veteran in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Evelyn Chestnut Marlow, two sons: Jamal Marlow, Sr. and Rev. Lavar Marlow, three brothers: William Marlow, Olland Marlow, and Michael Marlow, five sisters: Gerotha Marlow, Leronia Bellamy, Edna Marlow, Carolyn McNeil, and Polly Livingston.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marlow is preceded in death by 3 brothers and one sister: Austin Julius Marlow, Jr., James A. "Tommy" Marlow, Dianne Marlow Ward, and Willie E. "Bruiser" Marlow.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 3:30 to 5:30 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Ocean Hwy West, Calabash, NC, and again on Saturday following the services.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Ocean View Missionary Baptist Association, 7550 Ocean Hwy West, Sunset Beach, NC with Rev. Douglas Moss bringing words of comfort. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
