Mr. Carlanda A. Best

Mr. Carlanda Alfonzo Best 68, of the Mt. Olive community of Whiteville, NC; exchanged his life for a home in glory on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital, Concord, NC. He was the son of the late Mr. Carlanda Best and Mrs. Classie Haynes Best.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 1:00pm from Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 5548 Silver Spoon Road, Whiteville, NC, with the pastor Dr. Timothy A. Lance eulogizing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 3 to 5pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and following the service on Saturday. 

Mr. Best is survived by his children: Chevonya N. Brooks of Yanceyville, NC, Octavya G. Pratt of Roxboro, NC, Lakeya E. Morris of Durham, NC, Michael E. Gardner, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, and Leya Gardner of Durham, NC, sisters: Patricia R. McKenzie of Bladenboro, NC, Gwendolyn B. Todd of Whiteville, NC, Brenda Shipman of Greensboro, NC, a host of grandchildren, family members and friends. 

A facial covering is required at viewing and service.
