Obituary
Mr. Seldron Bowen 88, affectionally known as "Batman" of Whiteville, NC exchanged this life for a home in glory on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his residence. He was the son of the late Mr. Slade and Mrs. Callie Freeman, and adopted son of the late Mr. Clemmon and Mrs. Callie Bowen of Bolton, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00pm from Union Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 300 Mill Street, Whiteville, NC with Pastor Ricky McLean eulogizing. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 2 to 5pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel and following the service on Saturday.
Mr. Bowen is survived by his children: Janice Bowen of Raleigh, NC, Connie Simms of Birmingham, AL, Elnora Reaves of Elizabethtown, NC, Curtis and William Norton of Newport News, VA, and Cassandra Monroe Murchison of Lisbon, NC, a host of grandchildren, family and friends.
A facial covering is required at the viewing and service.
