Rev. Samuel Hemmingway

Rev. Samuel Hemmingway, Jr. 65, of Lumberton, NC gave the Lord his hand and crossed over Jordan on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Mr. Samuel Hemingway, Sr. and Mrs. Helen Davis Hemingway.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday October 23, 2022, at 2:00pm from Atkinson Temple Holiness Church, 968 McMillan Road, Whiteville, NC; where Rev. Marietta Lee is pastor, with Dr. J.R. Leach delivering the eulogy.

Rev. Hemmingway is survived by his devoted wife: Mrs. Sandra Clarida Hemmingway, sons: Rev. Samuel (Jack) Hemingway, III of Menlo Park, CA and Charles Clarida of Whiteville, NC,  two daughters: Sarah Clarida and Lazella Clarida both of Whiteville, NC, one sister: Mrs. Catherine Radcliffe of Evergreen, NC, two brothers: Deacon Jerry Hemingway of Whiteville, NC, and Mr. Frank (Kenny) Hemingway of Evergreen, NC,  eight grandchildren,  and a host of family and friends.

A walkthrough viewing will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 3 to 5pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and following the service on Sunday.

A facial covering is required at both the viewing and service.
